Amanda Nicastro donated a kidney for her sister, Brenna, in 2014 as part of a paired donation. Pretty much everywhere she goes Amanda meets people who refer to her as a hero when they learn this detail about her life. But does donating a kidney for someone you love by itself make you a hero? Even though Amanda has a certificate dedicated to her heroism, she’s not quite so sure.
